Partners · Education & skills

A first step back into learning, at a gentler pace.

Colleges, training providers, schools and adult-learning services will help residents rebuild confidence before — or alongside — formal study.

Why your sector matters

For many people, a course or qualification feels out of reach until confidence comes back first. Your sector can be the step after our 90-day journey — and we can be the steady run-up your learners sometimes need before they can begin.

How you will help

Nothing here commits your organisation today. These are the ways we expect education & skills partners to make the difference — agreed together, in writing, before anything begins.

1

Welcome taster sessions

Offer tasters, workshops or open days that feel welcoming rather than intimidating to people returning to learning.

2

Build progression routes

Create paths from our programme into courses, apprenticeships or further training, so momentum is never lost.

3

Advise on real skills

Shape our guidance around the skills the local economy actually needs, so it stays practical.

4

Host placements

Host visits or placements for residents who are ready, at whatever pace suits their confidence.

What we will provide

  • A named contact and clear written expectations on both sides.
  • Consent-led connections — people decide whether to be linked with us.
  • Anonymised counts and themes showing what learners wanted and where they went, never personal data.
  • Recognition only if and when you ask for it.

The time it will take

A first conversation of about 30 minutes, then whatever you agree. Many partners will begin with a few hours a quarter.

“One pebble, dropped with care, will reach further than you would ever expect.”
Isa Matias · Founder, Ripple Pebble Project
