Privacy & data
Kindness includes respecting your information. Here is, plainly, what we will hold, why, for how long, and what you will always be able to ask us to do.
Who will be responsible for your data
Ripple Pebble Project (founded by Isa Matias, based in the UK) will be the data controller for this website.
For any privacy question or request, please use our contact page and choose "Privacy or data". A dedicated privacy email address will be added here soon.
What we will collect
Questionnaires, feedback, waitlist and meeting interest: will stay anonymous. We will store only your answers and the date — never your name, email or IP address.
Member accounts: will need an alias and password only. Anything you add to your profile will remain optional.
Staff and volunteer accounts: will use a work email and password, plus the work details, goals, notes and messages staff choose to enter. Notes will stay visible only to their author.
Why we will use it (lawful basis)
Anonymous answers will be combined into totals and charts to show community need for CIC registration, partnerships and funding. Because they won't identify anyone, they won't be personal data.
Member and staff accounts will be used on the basis of legitimate interests (running the programme) and, for staff, our working relationship. Urgent support requests will be handled to protect people's wellbeing.
We will never sell data, show adverts or share it with others except where the law requires.
Storage on your device
We won't use advertising or tracking cookies. We will only use essential browser storage: keeping you signed in, remembering you've seen the coming-soon note, and your Comfort settings. These will stay on your device and you will be able to clear them in your browser at any time. More on the cookies & accessibility page.
How long we will keep it
For now, everything will be kept for 1 year. This 1-year limit will stay in place until our ICO registration is complete; once it is, we will review these periods, publish the new ones here, and remove anything that has passed its date.
Anonymous answers: will be kept for 1 year, then removed.
Member accounts: will be kept until you delete them, or after 1 year without use.
Staff and volunteer data: will be kept for as long as the person works with us, then removed within 1 year unless the law requires longer.
Data will be stored securely with access limited to the owner and approved staff.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you will always be able to ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how it's used, or ask us to limit its use. Members will be able to delete their own profile on My account.
Anonymous answers won't be linked to you, so we won't be able to find "your" answers to delete them — this is what will keep them private.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you will be able to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Our promise on anonymity
We will keep everything anonymised to the best of our ability. Wherever a form can work without identifying someone, it will. Where an account does need to be tied to a person — a staff or volunteer account, or a reply to you — we will say so plainly on that page, and we will keep only what that job genuinely needs.
As the programme grows, this page will be updated whenever anything above changes, and we will not quietly loosen these promises.
Not a crisis service
Ripple Pebble Project will offer non-clinical, peer-led self-help. If you or someone else is in danger, call 999, or NHS 111 for urgent advice. See Safeguarding & support.
Written October 2026. This page will be reviewed and updated as the programme develops.
